ELMHURST, IL — Elmhurst District 205 student artists had a very strong regional showing this year for the PTA Reflections Program. 22 District 205 students submitted projects that have been advanced to the state competition level.
The district said in a release Reflections is a PTA-sponsored arts recognition and achievement program for students in kindergarten through high school. Students submit original projects in any of the following six categories: literature, music composition, photography, visual arts, dance choreography and film/video production. Projects are judged and qualifying works advance through local, district, regional, state and national levels.
Student artwork reflects on a theme set by the national Reflections committee. The district said this year’s theme was “Within Reach.” Elmhurst District 205 Reflections chair Michelle Wehrle has volunteered for the program for several years and says she’s always impressed by the talent of Elmhurst students.
