Elmhurst Burglary Suspect Crashes Car: Cops

In another case, a resident who has been repeatedly cited for loud noise was ticketed again, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police have arrested people on charges of burglary of a vehicle, loud noise, retail theft, criminal damage and DUI. Here is information from the latest arrest log:

Vehicle burglary

  • Tommy Andrade, 20, of Addison, was arrested about 2 a.m. Sunday on charges of burglary of a motor vehicle, fleeing and eluding an officer, possession of a stolen vehicle and criminal damage to government property. Police received a call about suspicious circumstances in the parking garage at 175 W. First St. Andrade was found, but fled from police before crashing his car, police said. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Retail theft

  • A 21-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 6 p.m. Friday at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, on a charge of retail theft. He was caught stealing two items. He was released.
  • A 34-year-old man, a 30-year-old man, a 43-year-old woman and a 26-year-old woman, all of Chicago, were arrested about 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, on charges of retail theft. They were released.

Criminal damage

  • A 39-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 11 a.m. Sunday at a storage unit complex at 877 S. Route 83 on a charge of criminal property damage. The man was accused of damaging a car's front grill. He was released.

DUI

  • A 25-year-old Addison man was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Thursday at North and Melrose avenues on charges of DUI, possession of open alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was released.
  • An 18-year-old Arlington Heights man was arrested about 11 p.m. Friday at Larch and Fremont avenues on charges of DUI, improper lighting, improper lane usage and no valid driver's license. He was released.
  • Jenblin Cifuentes-Carrillo, 28, of Melrose Park, was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Saturday at Route 83 and North Avenue on charges of DUI, driving with a revoked license, fleeing and eluding, improper lane usage and driving an uninsured car. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 36-year-old Burbank woman was arrested about 4 a.m. Saturday at Route 83 and Riverside Drive on charges of DUI, driving with a suspended license, resisting arrest, illegal transportation of alcohol and improper turn at an intersection. She was released.
  • A 42-year-old Villa Park man was arrested about 2 a.m. Friday at St. Charles Road and Villa Avenue on charges of DUI and possession of open alcohol by a driver. He was released.
  • A 23-year-old Franklin Park man was arrested about 2 a.m. Sunday at York and First streets on charges of DUI, driving the wrong way on a one-way street and marijuana possession by a driver. He was released.
