Elmhurst D-205 Board To Close Doors To Discuss Employees
The board is holding a rare special closed session on personnel. It hasn't done so since March 2021.

ELMHURST, IL – The Elmhurst School District 205 board is holding a rare special closed session Monday devoted to personnel matters.
The board often lists personnel issues as the reason for closing the doors before open sessions at its regular meetings. But it is unusual for the board to convene a special meeting for the purpose of closed personnel discussions.
The school board hasn't held a special closed session on personnel issues since March 2021. That month, the board held five such sessions.

At a final meeting, the board approved a resignation agreement with then-Superintendent Dave Moyer. Under its terms, he was to leave in a few days, rather than his original departure date of June 30, 2021.
Moyer, who was planning to take a job in New York, was not present at the meeting in which the agreement was approved.

According to the board's meeting agenda, it is not set to take any action after its closed meeting.
In the last few years, the attorney general has twice found the school board violated the state's open meetings law with its closed sessions.
