Elmhurst D205 Penalizes Family Of Nonresident Student

The family must pay the school district for tuition for the student, the board decided.

ELMHURST, IL – A hearing officer has found that a student in Elmhurst School District 205 does not live within the district's boundaries.

This week, the school board voted unanimously to disenroll the student, listed as "Student A" because of privacy laws. The decision takes effect at the end of the school day Tuesday.

The student started in the district at the beginning of the school year.

The board decided to charge the family $5,614 in tuition for the student from the first day of school.
