Elmhurst Hopefuls To Face Off In Forum
Two candidates are unable to attend the event, organizers say.

ELMHURST, IL – Candidates for city council, school board and park board in Elmhurst are set to take part in a forum later this month.
The League of Women Voters of Elmhurst will host an in-person forum at 1 p.m. Feb. 26 at Elmhurst City Hall, 209 N. York Road.
The forum for Elmhurst City Council candidates starts first.

Eight of the nine candidates in four competitive council races have indicated they would attend, the only exception being Ward 6's Laura Vevers, organizers said.
Vevers' opponent, Guido Nardini, is set to give a statement after the council portion of the forum ends at 2:10 p.m.

Two of the three candidates for the Elmhurst Park District board are scheduled to take part. The exception is Tim Sheehan. That portion of the forum is scheduled from 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
For the Elmhurst School District 205 board, all nine candidates are set to participate. That part of the forum is slated for 3:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
The league has invited the public to submit questions for the candidates to lwvelmhurstvoterservice@gmail.com.
The League of Women Voters of Elmhurst has long held forums for local candidates.
The local races in the April 4 election are nonpartisan.
In the fall, a number of Republicans in the general election decided against participating in the league's event. Among them was state Rep. Deanne Mazzochi of Elmhurst, who later lost her bid for re-election.
