But District 205 has historically kept the information for upper-level appointees a secret until the vote. Within minutes after a decision, the district issues an already-prepared news release to the public.
For lower-ranking employees, names are disclosed beforehand as part of regular personnel reports on which the board votes.
In May, Joshua Louis, Sandburg's principal for the last three years, informed his superiors he was leaving for a job in another district. His last official day was June 30.
On Aug. 3, Brandi Greene is set to become the new assistant principal at Sandburg, replacing Jeff Gail.
The school board is holding its special meeting at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the central office.
Under state law, the board was required to inform the public 48 hours ahead of time. It beat the deadline by three minutes, sending its announcement at 4:27 p.m. Sunday.
