ELMHURST, IL – The recent failure of a stormwater pumping station has increased the possibility of flooding in an Elmhurst neighborhood, the city says.

On Monday, the City Council is set to approve $97,000 in repairs for the Jackson Street pumping station, which sends water to Salt Creek.

Without the pump and gate operational, the city said, stormwater would back up and create flooding.
