Elmhurst Woman Charged With Domestic Battery: Cops

In another case, the police identified the man who is accused of leading officers on a chase.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of domestic battery, improper transportation of hazardous materials, burglary and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Domestic battery

  • Brigit C. Cahill, 27, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 6 p.m. Saturday at her home in the 100 block of West Virginia Street on a charge of domestic battery. Police said Cahill battered a man. Cahill was reported as drunk and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital before she was moved to the DuPage County Jail.

  • Russell Miller, 24, of Chicago, was cited about 3:30 p.m. Friday at St. Charles Road and Argyle Avenue on charges of leaving the scene of an accident involving damage to an attended vehicle, failing to secure a child (five counts), failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improperly using lanes, having no valid driver's license and driving without insurance. He also faces charges from other agencies. All the charges are connected to a police chase.

Hazmat charges

  • Nikokaos Karnavas, 78, of Justice, was cited about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of West North Avenue on charges of improper transportation of hazardous materials and improper storage of hazardous materials. He was released on bond.

  • Africa A. McKinney, 28, of Chicago, was arrested about 5 p.m. Saturday at Jewel, 944 S. York St., on charges of retail theft, burglary and unlawful possession of marijuana. Police said McKinney stole several bottles of alcohol from the store. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Warrants

  • Deonna Wagner, 21, of Chicago, was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of South Route 83 on a Cook County warrant. She was released on bond.
  • Adam J. Stephan, 44, of Lanark, was arrested about 4 a.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of South York Street on two warrants. He was released on bond.
  • Kyle Raymond Jordan, 31, of Villa Park, was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Saturday at North and Ferndale avenues on a Lee County warrant. He was stopped for an expired registration. He was released on bond.

DUIs

  • Edgar Rosales, 31, of Stickney, was arrested about 4 a.m. Saturday at York and Lake streets on charges of DUI, improper lane usage and driving without insurance. He was released on bond.
  • Thomas Swanson, 28, of Orland Park, was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Sunday at North Avenue and Route 83 on charges of DUI, driving in the wrong lane, improper lane usage and driving without insurance.
