ELMHURST, IL – The city of Elmhurst's updated website went live Monday, with officials praising the new look.

"It's welcome to see the new website," Mayor Scott Levin said at a City Council meeting. "I think the last one was getting a little tired."

Alderman Mike Brennan called it a "huge update." And Alderman Michael Bram said the website was overdue for a refresh.

"This looks excellent," Bram said. "It's easy to utilize, and I hope the search functionality is as easy as the website is."

Kassondra Schref, the city's communications director, said that because the city has a new website provider, residents will need to sign up again for alerts. This function allows residents to get email and text notifications about city developments. The most recent example was the water main break that affected a fourth of the city.
