Fights Planned At Elmhurst Venue
A similar event was held in December at Elm West. It was reported as sold out.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst has approved a temporary event permit for fights later this month at a local banquet hall.
Maximus Promotions is holding the fights Feb. 17 at Elm West Banquets, formerly Diplomat West, 681 W. North Ave.
According to the company's application, seating will be available for 500 to 750.

In a memo last month to the City Council, City Manager Jim Grabowski said all city departments reviewed and approved the request for the event.
Unless directed otherwise, Grabowski said he would let the event occur.

The fights involve mixed martial arts, combat jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai, or Thai boxing, according to Maximum Promotions' Facebook page.
A similar event was held Dec. 9 at Elm West. The company reported that it was sold out.
In a Facebook video in September, Maximus Promotions announced Elm West as its new venue.
"You know we don't do gymnasium fights. We keep it classy," an announcer said.
Elm West is just inside city limits on the west side of Route 83.
A message for comment was left with the organizers Wednesday morning.
