Gun Alleged In Elmhurst Road Rage: Police
In another case, a customer accused an Elmhurst dealership of failing to give back a deposit, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving road rage, theft by deception, a fire, wallet theft, burglary, trespassing, an unconscious person, a fugitive driver, graffiti and gunshot wounds. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Road rage
- A person told police that another driver showed a handgun during a road rage incident about 8 a.m. Friday at Route 83 and St. Charles Road. Both drivers left before officers arrived. An officer contacted both drivers, who gave conflicting statements. The suspect denied displaying a gun.
Theft by deception

- A man told police Friday that Elite Car Outlet, 178 N. Route 83, refused to return his deposit for a car. The dealership said the car was sold to another person and acknowledged refusing to refund the deposit. An investigation is pending.
Fire
- A fire in a garbage can spread to a privacy fence between houses about 8 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of West Elm Tree Lane. The homeowners were safe, and the fire was successfully put out.
Wallet theft

- A man told police Friday that he lost his wallet after paying for groceries about 5 p.m. Friday at Jewel, 944 S. York St. Using an AirTag, the man was able to track his wallet to a house in Hillside. An investigation is pending.
Burglary
- Jackson Rashaun, 20, of Rockford; Sidney Temarion, 20, of Chicago; and Tyrese Gillaird, 22, of Harvey, were arrested about 3 a.m. Friday on two counts of burglary. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail. Patch wrote a story about the situation last week.
Trespassing
- A 20-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, both of Bensenville, were arrested about 9 a.m. Friday at the parking deck at 145 N. Addison Ave. on charges of trespassing. Police said they were on the top floor of the deck, which is off-limits to the public. They were released.
Unconscious person
- Elmhurst police responded to the report of an unconscious person about 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Harlo Grill, 929 S. York St. The person regained consciousness and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital. He was given a no-trespass notice for Harlo Grill.
Fugitive driver
- About 9:30 p.m. Friday, an officer tried to stop a driver speeding in a white Infiniti Q70. The driver failed to stop and was last seen heading east on North Avenue. An investigation is pending.
Graffiti
- An officer saw black graffiti about 7 p.m. Saturday on the northeast corner of Smiley Nails II, 533 S. Spring Road. Two people were seen running away on Prairie Path Lane.
Gunshot wounds
- Three people arrived about 9:30 a.m. Sunday in Elmhurst Hospital's emergency room. They said they had been shot the day before in Chicago. They reported the incident to Chicago police, went to the University of Chicago Medical Center and visited Elmhurst Hospital for follow-up treatment.
Fall
- A man fell while riding his electric bicycle about 3 p.m. Sunday in the 600 block of South York Street. He cut his head. Police said the man was drunk. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
Warrant
- A 21-year-old Wilmington, Illinois, man was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Thursday in the 400 block of East Vallette Street on a DuPage County warrant. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Disorderly conduct
- A 61-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 5 a.m. Thursday at the train station, 128 W. First St., on charges of disorderly conduct and possession of alcohol in public. He was released.
Drug possession
- A 27-year-old woman was arrested about 4 a.m. Sunday at North and Myrtle avenues on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, DUI, improper lighting, driving an uninsured car and possession of open alcohol by a driver. She was released.
DUI
- A 35-year-old Woodridge woman was arrested about 1 a.m. Monday at Route 83 and North Avenue on charges of DUI, possession of a firearm with no valid firearm owner's identification card, speeding and improper lane usage. Police said the woman had a stun gun. She was released.
