ILMEA Names 30 All-District Selectees From York HS

ELMHURST, IL — More than 3,000 students from over 75 schools throughout Northeastern Illinois auditioned for the honor of being chosen for the All-District band, chorus, orchestra and jazz band. York Community High School had 30 musicians named for the band; and the student musicians will perform at the Illinois Music Educators Association (ILMEA) All-District Music Festivals this November.

According to the school, ILMEA’s District I Jazz Festival will be Saturday, Nov. 11, at Thornton Fractional South High School, located at 18500 Burnham Ave., in Lansing. The ILMEA District I Band, Chorus and Orchestra Music Festival will be Saturday, Nov. 18, at Elmhurst College, located at 190 S. Prospect Ave., in Elmhurst.
