Man Tied To Elmhurst Firm Arrested On Heroin Charge: Cops

Business has been a source of complaints to the police, reports say.

ELMHURST, IL — A man tied to an Elmhurst business that has been a source of complaints to police was arrested Wednesday on a charge of heroin possession, according to a police report.

Daniel Marchwiany, 31, of Glen Ellyn, was arrested and taken to the DuPage County Jail, where he still was Thursday afternoon.

Marchwiany, who was also arrested on three DuPage County warrants, is connected to Repair Geekz, 927 S. York St.

According to the police report, officers were called to a house in the 700 block of South Poplar because of an unknown medical problem and found Marchwiany under the influence of heroin, police said.

In September, Marchwiany and Alicia Hubert, 42, also of Glen Ellyn, were found at Repair Geekz and arrested on DuPage County warrants, according to a report.

In July, police were called to Repair Geekz because of a number of complaints from customers about the business. Officers came into contact with Marchwiany, who they then arrested on a DuPage County warrant. Elmhurst Patch wrote a story about the issue.

In February, police arrested Marchwiany after a customer told them she saw him snorting a substance off the counter while working at Repair Geekz, according to a police report. When officers arrived, they said they found suspected heroin. Marchwiany was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, police said.

Elmhurst Patch left a message with Repair Geekz on Thursday. The business has not returned previous messages.
