Mike Kasper of Elmhurst named to Crain’s Chicago Business 40 Under 40
Kasper was named CEO of DuPage Medical Group in 2010.

Elmhurst resident Mike Kasper was named to Crain’s Chicago Business 40 Under 40 list. Each year, 40 individuals who have made a significant impact in their fields before the age of 40 are selected for the honor.
Kasper is CEO of DuPage Medical Group, which generates $375 million in revenue and includes more than 300 doctors in 40 suburban locations. But even at the age of 39, Kasper already is a veteran in business. He first become a CEO at age 30, when he was head of Coventry Health Care of Louisiana, according to Crain's. He was able to expand the organization when hurricane Katrina hit while many other companies were shutting down.
Kasper also served as president at Humana Chicago for three years, and he held executive positions with Aetna and Kaiser Permanente. He joined DuPage Medical Group in 2010.
Kasper led the formation of Illinois Health Partners, a joint venture between DuPage Medical Group and Edward Hospital that allows physicians and hospitals to work together for improved quality, efficiency and patient access. The partnership established a common database of patient records, according to an article in The Naperville Sun last spring.
“This relationship will be focused on improving quality, efficiency and access to care for our patients—with physicians driving the process," Kasper was quoted as saying.
Kasper is a board member for the American Heart Association and active with the American Cancer Society. He also is a member of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, an Advisory Council member of the MetroChicago Health Information Exchange, and associate board member of the Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council.
“Being selected by Crain’s for this recognition and among the current class of honorees and alumni is a true honor. We couldn’t be more proud of Mike,” said Dr. Paul Merrick, president of DuPage Medical Group. “Mike continues to grow and develop all the time. He's exceptionally smart. It takes a unique individual to lead physicians, and he has adapted to the challenge beyond our expectations."
