No Confusion This Time: Elmhurst Controlled Burn
Residents got details this time about the burn, unlike two months ago.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst residents received specifics this time around about a controlled burn, unlike the vague information they got a couple of months ago.
According to a news release, the city hired a company to perform a controlled burn Monday or Tuesday at Arlington Reservoir. It is west of County Line Road, bordered by the McMaster-Carr plant to the north and Arlington Cemetery to the south.
The contractor, Crystal Lake-based Baxter & Woodman Natural Resources, is set to remove unwanted plant species.

The burn is expected to last no more than six hours, starting about 10 a.m. Baxter & Woodman will only conduct the burn if weather conditions are favorable, the city said.
In January, Baxter & Woodman Natural Resources mailed a notice to residents saying it would conduct a controlled burn "located near or adjacent to your property" at some point "in the next few weeks."

Residents complained about the vague information at a city meeting. In response, the city announced all burns were canceled for the time being, saying proper notice would be issued next time.
