Person Hit At Elmhurst Restaurant: Cops
In another case, a nursing home resident struck another with a back scratcher, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a fight at a restaurant, a battery at a nursing home, theft of cash and a woman fearing her husband's ex-wife was following her. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Batteries
- A person was struck in the head during a fight about 10:30 p.m. Thursday at 100 South Chophouse restaurant, 100 S. York St. This was after the restaurant closed for the night. The incident was reported the next morning. An investigation is pending.
- The administrator of The Grove Elmhurst nursing home, 127 W. Diversey Ave., told police Friday that one resident used a back scratcher to poke another resident. Neither resident suffered any injuries, but the incident was documented for the state Department of Public Health. No complaint was signed.

- A woman in the 200 block of South Chandler Avenue told police that her husband's ex-wife had been following her through a residential area about 3:30 p.m. Thursday. The ex-wife said she was a caregiver for children who go to the same school where the woman on Chandler picks up her children. The ex-wife denied following anyone.
Bike found
- Officers recovered an abandoned black and white Genesis mountain bicycle Friday in the 100 block of West First Street. It appeared to have been there for several months. The bike was entered into evidence for safekeeping.
Theft of cash

- A woman told police Friday that cash was stolen from her purse while it was left unattended about 7:30 p.m. Friday at Clarion Hotel, 933 S. Riverside Drive. The suspect left before officers arrived. An investigation is pending.
