Storms are also possible on Thursday and Friday. Afternoon heat indices of 95 to 100 degrees are possible by mid-week, according to the weather service.

The weather service offered these tips for staying safe in the heat:

  • Drink plenty of water
  • Wear light clothing
  • Wear sunscreen
