Safety Measures Pushed On Elmhurst Street
The street contains bus stops with small children during high-traffic times of the day, aldermen said.

ELMHURST, IL – Aldermen from Elmhurst's northeastern ward are pushing for safety measures on Kenilworth Avenue, from North to Fremont avenues.
In a memo this week, Ward 3 aldermen Chris Jensen and Michael Bram said the street includes bus stops with young children during high-traffic times of the day.
They said residents in the neighborhood came forward with their concerns.

They noted a new city plan to change yield signs at residential intersections to stop signs. They said they wanted this done as soon as possible for Kenilworth and Columbia avenues.
As for Kenilworth in general, the aldermen proposed the city consider adding more stop signs, expanding no-parking zones near the intersections to improve sight lines and making other changes that city staff recommends for safety.
