Slapping Yields Elmhurst Domestic Battery Charge: Cops

In other cases, police cited a man and a woman on disorderly conduct charges in separate incidents.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges such as domestic battery, disorderly conduct and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst arrest log:

Domestic battery

  • A 26-year-old Joliet woman was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Sunday on Elm Creek Court on two counts of domestic battery. Police said she slapped a man in the face during an argument. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Disorderly conduct

  • A 24-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 400 block of South Arlington Avenue was arrested about 2 a.m. Saturday near a business at 154 W. Park Ave. on a charge of disorderly conduct. Police said the man screamed at a woman and threatened to damage her car. He was released.
  • A 50-year-old Lombard woman was arrested about 4 p.m. near a business at 275 N. York St. on a charge of disorderly conduct. Police said the woman approached a man's car and yelled at him for how he parked. She then opened the man's door and kept yelling at him. She was released.

Loud noise

  • A 65-year-old Elmhurst man was cited about 2 a.m. Sunday at his house in the 700 block of South Saylor Avenue on a charge of creating a nuisance involving loud music. Police said the music was coming from speakers in his garage. The man closed the garage door and refused to meet with officers. The man, who faced similar charges in previous instances, was released.

DUI

  • Vito D. D'Amore, 30, of Highland Park, was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Sunday at Route 83 and Hodges Road on charges of aggravated DUI, obstruction, driving with a revoked license, disobeying a traffic control device and driving an uninsured car. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 37-year-old Chicago woman was arrested about 1:30 p.m. Friday at Lake Street and Grand Avenue on charges of DUI, illegal transportation of open alcohol, damage to state property, driving an uninsured car and failure to yield while turning left. Police said she crashed. She was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 36-year-old Elmhurst woman who lives in the 100 block of Elm Creek Drive was arrested about 1 p.m. Friday on a count of DUI and two counts of endangering the life of a child. She was taken to the police station and then released. Her children were given to an authorized caregiver.

Warrant

  • An 86-year-old Bensenville man was arrested about 9 p.m. Sunday at York Street and North Avenue on a DuPage County warrant and a charge of driving with a suspended license. He was released.
  • A 71-year-old Elk Grove man was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Thursday at the city's parking garage at 145 N. Addison Ave. on a McHenry County warrant. Police said they responded to the garage to check on the man's well-being. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
