Three York Students Win National Merit Scholarships
Three York students have been chosen as winners of a $2,500 National Merit Scholarship.

ELMHURST, IL — 2,500 high school seniors have won this year's National Merit $2,500 Scholarship award. According to the organization, the winners were chosen from more than 15,000 finalists. Among the winners are three York students: Linnea Dierksheide, Carina Kanzler and Katherine Tomaska.
According to National Merit, Dierksheide has a probable career field in International Relations; Kanzler in Performing Arts; and Tomaska in Biomedical Engineering.
According to the organization, National Merit $2,500 Scholarship winners are the finalists in each state judged to have the strongest combination of accomplishments, skills, and potential for success in rigorous college studies. The number of winners named in each state is proportional to the state’s percentage of the
nation’s graduating high school seniors.
