Wrestler Imposter Scams Elmhurst Man: Cops

ELMHURST, IL – An Elmhurst man earlier this month received a message from a suspect claiming to be a popular wrestler, police said.

The resident, who lives in the 500 block of West Crockett Avenue, then sent several photos of himself to the suspect. After that, he was asked to send his debit card information to prevent the photos from being distributed, police said.

The man reported the scam to the police Saturday. He is hardly the first Elmhurst resident to be the target of a suspect claiming to be a celebrity.
