York High School Announces SkillsUSA State Champions
Gemini has qualified to compete at the National SkillsUSA Competition and Conference to be held the last week of June in Kentucky.
ELMHURST, IL — Two students from York Community High School earned medals in their categories at the SkillsUSA Illinois Championships held on April 19-21 in Springfield. Joseph Gemini was awarded first place, Technical Drafting CAD and Matthew Shepherd was awarded second place, Screen Printing, the school said.
These two students repeated their outstanding performances from last year. The school said by placing first in the Technical Drafting CAD Competition, Gemini has qualified to compete at the National SkillsUSA Competition and Conference to be held the last week of June in Louisville, Kentucky.
Under the leadership of Wendy Albert, Division Chair for Technology & Applied Arts, faculty of
the Industrial Technology Department include Ken Ross, Dan Calenberg, Ron Robak and Joe Stolz.
