York High School Names New Girls Soccer Head Coach

York Community High School has named Stevan Dobric as the new head coach of girls soccer.

ELMHURST, IL — York Community High School has named Stevan Dobric as the new head coach of girls soccer. Dobric will begin his tenure as head coach during the 2019 season, the district said. He has been an assistant coach in the girls’ soccer program at York for the last seven years. He is also a certified teacher at York and serves as the Coordinator of the Study Seminar Program.

The district said Dobric played soccer at Maine South High School and then went on to play for Elmhurst College where he studied History and Secondary Education. During his time at Elmhurst College, he was the president and founder of the Elmhurst College Soccer Club, which evolved to be the current men's varsity team. Dobric has 13 years of high school soccer coaching experience, coaching at Maine East High School before coming to York. He was the interim head coach with the girls’ soccer program when the Dukes went 10-8. He currently holds a United States Soccer Federation coaching license.

”The Athletic Department is pleased and confident to have a coach with Mr.Dobric’s extensive experience step in to lead the York Soccer Program,” Assistant Principal for Athletics Rob Wagner said in a release.
