3 Hurt, Dog Saved in Sunday Crash Near Howard Street

Emergency crews worked to save a dog trapped in a wrecked vehicle near Howard and Ridge Sunday afternoon.

EVANSTON, IL - A Sunday afternoon traffic crash in south Evanston sent three people to the hospital. Emergency crews also saved the life of a dog in the incident.

The crash took place just before 5 p.m. near the Howard Street-Ridge Avenue intersection on the southern edge of town, according to Evanston Now. The dog was trapped in one of the wrecked cars before being freed.

Traffic was closed on Ridge Avenue for more than an hour.
