62-Year Old Woman Catches Burglar at Her Home: Cops

The suspect was tracked down near the Brummell Street CTA tracks after a residential burglary call on Mulford Street.

EVANSTON, IL - A 62-year-old woman walked in on a man burglarizing her residence on Monday.

Sargon Mirza, 27, of Lincolnwood ran out of the victim's home in the 1600 block of Mulford Street around 6:11 p.m. with a suitcase filled with two laptops, a tablet, purse, video camera and jar of coins, according to police. He's been charged with residential burglary and other offenses.

Mirza was located in the 1400 block of Brummel Street after a call to police about a man matching his description running near the CTA tracks was made.

When in custody, police said they found Mirza to be in possession of Vicodin and Hydrocodone pills.

The victim recovered her suitcase with all its items.
