Accused Cross-Rhodes Restaurant Burglar Nabbed by Police
Police say they caught up with the 20-year-old Evanston man after breaking the front window of the restaurant on Chicago Ave.

EVANSTON, IL - Evanston police are thanking a quick tipster who alerted them to a burglary at the Cross-Rhodes Restaurant in the 900 block of Chicago Ave. early Tuesday morning.
Officers responded there at 3:48 a.m., where they found the front window of the restaurant broken out and a suspect fleeing the location on foot.
After a short chase, they arrested Parker Cavalier, 20, in the 800 block of Hinman Ave.

According to police, Cavalier, of the 3600 block of Central St., resisted the officers' attempt to take him into custody by "twisting away from the grasp of the officer." He is also accused of striking the officer "several" times with his elbow.
Proceeds from the restaurant were recovered in a bag Cavalier was carrying, according to police.

Cavalier was charged with one felony count of burglary, one misdemeanor count of resisting a peace officer and one misdemeanor count of battery to a peace officer.
