"Autumn Spirit" - Free Live Performance w/ Composer Joe George at FCCE

Music First Concert series at First Congregational Church of Evanston featuring acclaimed local composer Joe George performing with “Autumn Spirit” on September 29th, 2024 at 2pm

After a fantastic inaugural event this spring, First Congregational Church of Evanston is continuing to support musical excellence in Evanston with new and unique music from local composer Joe George. Mr. George will be presenting an original composition on September 29th at 2 pm in the sanctuary of First Congregational Church of Evanston located at 1445 Hinman Ave.

An accomplished and noted musician and composer, Joe George is well known in Chicago as a session and gigging player with a large following. After a successful debut at the Red Room, George’s private music club and venue in Chicago, and a recording of the work for wide release, George has re-gathered a talented group of string musicians to play his String Quartet #1. Following the string quartet, Joe will perform several original piano pieces.

This is a great opportunity to experience a combination of live classical and alt-jazz with an intriguing group of up-and-coming Chicago musicians in an architecturally beautiful and acoustically fantastic setting. The concert is free and open to all and will feature a cookie reception following the concert along with a brief “Talk Back” with the composer.
