Reports indicate a 25-year-old woman driving a Kia southbound on Crawford struck a Honda while turning left on Gross Point Road. The driver of the Honda lost consciousness and hit the accelerator, not coming to a stop until well after he drove through the patio.
The Honda driver, a 54-year-old Buffalo Grove man, was taken to nearby Skokie Hospital with minor injuries as the Kia driver faces citations for improper left turn and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
Sarkis closes daily at 5 p.m., so no diners or employees were hurt at the time. The restaurant is open Friday.
