About Village Farmstand: A new micro-warehouse grocery store in Evanston
Village Farmstand is a year-round virtual farmers' market featuring seasonal produce, pasture-raised meats and heirloom flavors from over 35 small Midwest farms using regenerative agricultural practices.
Online orders can be placed anytime and picked up Thursday thru Sunday at our Evanston storefront. We offer same day pickup with the option of contactless curbside service. Orders can also be placed in-store and fulfilled in less than 10 minutes.
Our Story:
The business was started by local filmmaker Matt Wechsler, who's 2016 film Sustainable looked at the dichotomy between small-scale sustainable farming and the agribusiness industry at large. Founded out of the need to create a retail market for farmers who traditional serviced the restaurant industry, Village Farmstand is committed to building the most equitable food system in the Midwest by paying farmers a fair wage for their goods.
