Driver Stabbed During Carjacking In West Rogers Park

CHICAGO — Police are looking for a carjacker who stabbed a man Tuesday night in the West Ridge neighborhood. A 62-year-old man was getting ready to get out of his car shortly after 10 p.m. after parking in the 6300 block of North Campbell Avenue when an unidentified man walked up to his window and demanded his wallet, according to Chicago police.

The driver refused. Police said he got out of the car, a 2007 gold Toyota Camry, and the two started fighting.

During the fight, the robber pulled out of a sharp object and stabbed the 62-year-old man in his abdomen before stealing his Camry and fleeing the scene, according to police.

The victim was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston and was reported to be in stable condition, police said.
