Evanston 311 Center Marks 15 Years of Service to Community
The Evanston 311 Center has handled nearly 2 million phone calls and over 450,000 service requests since its launch in March 2011.

EVANSTON, IL — The City of Evanston is observing the 15th anniversary of its 311 Center. This milestone highlights the center's role in providing responsive local government service to the community.
Since its establishment in March 2011, the Evanston 311 Center has operated as a central point for residents seeking information or assistance with City services. These services range from reporting infrastructure issues like potholes to addressing questions about permits, public safety, and community programs. The center has worked to simplify access to City Hall for local residents.
Over the past 15 years, the 311 Center has processed a significant volume of communications. It has handled just under 1,900,000 phone calls. Additionally, the center has responded to 36,000 chats and 23,000 text messages. In total, the 311 Center has managed 455,000 service requests during its operational period.

"For 15 years, our 311 team has demonstrated professionalism, compassion, and accountability in every interaction," City Manager Luke Stowe said. "They are often the first point of contact with the City and set the tone for how we serve our community." Stowe expressed gratitude, stating, "I’m incredibly grateful to the entire 311 team for their constant dedication."
The 311 Center has also played an important role during emergency situations. It has provided accurate information to residents, coordinated service requests, and assisted community members in navigating rapidly changing circumstances. This function helps ensure residents receive timely support during critical events.
