The Evanston Art Center (EAC) Announces Their Art Outreach

With 2021 coming to a close we would like to thank the Evanston Art Center community and our partners for continuing their outreach and support during this unprecedented time.
It is the generous contributions of our community that enables the Evanston Art Center to enhance the quality of life in our region, provide professional opportunities to artists, offer art education to people of all ages, and bring free educational programs to many community members who would otherwise have limited access to the visual arts.
With the support of the EAC community in 2021 we safely welcomed more than 30,00 people each year representing over 100 Illinois zip codes to our center. We served 2,019 adult students, with 480 new adult students joining us for classes and workshops. A total of 110 class options ran throughout the year: due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the EAC offered both online and in-person. No students were turned away due to financial need! The EAC distributed 85 financial-need based scholarships.
The EAC also focused on the younger members of the community this past year, welcoming 700 Youth Students (aged 4-18) to the center. Of those 700 students, 368 Youth Students participated in an in-person class or camp, and 309 Youth students joined us for an online class or camp.
Outside of classes, the Evanston Art Center featured great sale opportunities, gallery exhibitions, and community outreach.The EAC was proud to host 17 exhibitions, free to the public, in 2021. Additionally, the Center showcased 19 Studio Exhibitions highlighting great EAC student work of all ages. Recently, the EAC exhibited 140 Regional Artists in EAC’s Winter Expo Sale. We also gladly welcomed 2 Curatorial Fellows to our team. While the EAC’s home base is 1717 Central Street, our staff’s focus is towards the community. The Art Center worked with 21 Community Partners in 2021.

Outreach
Through the 700+ Youth are served through scholarships, after-school programs at District 65 schools and Art Van Go at community events. The Evanston Art Center partners with Books and Breakfast at Walker Elementary, Dewey Elementary, Lincolnwood Elementary and Kingsley Elementary, and has developed partnerships with 15 non-profit organizations and schools including Evanston Made, Over the Rainbow, YEA!, ETHS, Loyola Academy and New Trier High School. The Art Center also provides 25 reduced-rate event rentals a year for area nonprofits.

Evanston Art Center, a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization, is dedicated to fostering the appreciation and
