Evanston Cop Sues Pension Board for Denying Him a Disability Pension
Sgt. Kevin Campbell alleges a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

EVANSTON, IL - An Evanston police officer is suing the city’s police pension board over not paying him a disability pension.
Sgt. Kevin Campbell filed the lawsuit last week in Cook County Circuit Court against the Evanston Police Pension Board/Fund, according to the Cook County Record. He claims the board violated the Americans with Disabilities Act when they denied him a disability pension in relation to an injury he suffered in 2010.
Campbell said he injured his hip during a foot pursuit that year, but the reason for the pension denial was that the injury did not occur while he was on duty.
