Police said a man pulled out a gun and began shooting during an argument in the parking lot of a west Evanston strip mall Tuesday afternoon.

EVANSTON, IL — A 28-year-old Evanston resident was shot after a man pulled out a gun during a fight in a parking lot Tuesday, police said. After the dispute became physical, the other man pulled out a gun and fired three to four shots striking the man once in the right hip, according to Cmdr. Ryan Glew. The shooter and his companion took off on foot headed westbound on Emerson. No physical or vehicle description was immediately available.
