Evanston Street Cleaning Operations Begin March 2, City Announces

Courtesy text and email reminders are available for residents to help avoid parking fines during the cleaning season.

EVANSTON, IL — Evanston Public Works will begin its 2026 street cleaning operations on March 2.

Signage that indicates the exact days and times when parking restrictions will be in effect is posted at the beginning and end of each block.

The City of Evanston advises residents to always check these signs before parking their vehicles. Drivers who park illegally during restricted hours may receive a $75 ticket. The full 2026 street cleaning map and schedule are available on the city's website at cityofevanston.org/streetcleaning.

Additional fall street cleaning dates have been added for residential streets. These additional dates aim to ensure that debris is cleared during the fall months. Signage for these dates will be posted, and parking restrictions will be enforced.

These operations are scheduled to continue through December 15, subject to weather conditions.

To assist residents, the city offers courtesy text message and email notifications. These reminders inform residents to move their vehicles before street cleaning occurs. Residents can sign up for these parking notifications for their specific street cleaning zone.

This can be done by visiting cityofevanston.org/streetcleaning or by calling or texting 847-448-4311. Residents who have previously signed up for notifications do not need to update them unless their address or parking location has changed.
