Evanston Trick-Or-Treat Hours, 2021 Halloween Health Guidelines
City officials recommend residents place individual goodie bags in a designated area for trick-or-treaters to maintain social distance.
EVANSTON, IL — City officials have designated Halloween trick-or-treating hours in Evanston as 4 to 7 p.m. this year.
Rather than hand out candy to trick-or-treaters, city staff recommended residents place individual goodie bags in a designated location, such as a front porch, yard or stoop to limit the risk of coronavirus transmission.
The Evanston Health and Human Services Department issued the following guidelines for trick-or-treating:

Wear a cloth face covering that covers your nose and mouth; a costume mask is not a substitute for a cloth face covering
Maintain a six-foot distance from trick-or-treaters outside of your household
Wash hands before and after trick-or-treating
Bring hand sanitizer to use before, during and after trick-or-treating
Limit the number of houses you visit
Stay home if you're sick or if you may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19
Households that do not want trick-or-treaters coming to their door were encouraged to turn off their outdoor lights or post signage on their doors notifying visitors they are not participating.
Ahead of Halloween night, several community events sponsored by the city and its business districts are planned around town:
