Evanston Wants Input On Hiring Of Next Police Chief

A community meeting about the recruitment of the Evanston Police Department's next chief will be held Sept. 5.

From The City of Evanston: On Wednesday, September 5, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., the City of Evanston will host a community meeting regarding the recruitment of the City's next police chief. The meeting will be held in the Parasol Room at the Morton Civic Center, located at 2100 Ridge Ave.

Facilitated by Dr. G. Kwesi Logan, the meeting will include an opportunity for the community to share input and ask questions about the hiring process. Selecting the right person to lead the department is an important and complicated process. Finding the person with the correct "fit" for the job requires input from all aspects of the city, which includes the community and its stakeholders.

Video of the meeting will be streamed live on the Department's Facebook page. The event will also be promoted on social media using the hashtag #NextEPDChief.
