Falling Branch Knocks Out Tree Trimmer, Leaves Him Dangling
A tree trimmer was critically injured when a large branch fell on him in Evanston Saturday.

EVANSTON, IL — Evanston police and Skokie firefighters rescued a critically injured tree trimmer after he was struck by a falling branch Saturday afternoon in the 2700 block of Princeton Avenue. The special rescue happened at around 3 p.m. after a large branch hit the man, rendering him unconscious.
Fire officials said the tree trimmer was left dangling more than 20 feet in the air and taken to an Evanston hospital in critical condition, WLS reported.
Evanston police applauded officers and Skokie firefighters who came to the man's aid, saying they "coordinated their efforts and showed true professionalism."
