Free Earth Day Concert At Unitarian Church
Monday's event will include performances from a Grammy-nominated jazz musician, a legendary fiddler and poetry from local students.
From Unitarian Church of Evanston: Raising Voices in Song for Earth Day 2019” is a concert that will take place on Monday, April 22, from 7-9 pm at the Unitarian Church of Evanston, 1330 Ridge Avenue. The event is free and open to the public.
Kristin Lems, the event organizer and one of the musicians, said, “Since its inception in 1970, Earth Day has never been more important! We are inviting the community to celebrate the earth in all its great variety and beauty, and to rededicate ourselves to do whatever is needed to lower our carbon emissions! Everything we love is on the line!”
Fittingly, the emcees for the program will be junior high school students connected to the Unitarian Church of Evanston, who will share their topical poems and ideas at the mic.

Although there are many Earth Day activities the following weekend, this event was planned to take place on Earth Day itself, as a kind of “Happy Earth Day” commemoration.
The building is accessible and the event is family free.
