A Fun & Spooky Musical Halloween Experience!

Are you looking for a unique way to experience Halloween? Head to the McGrath Family Performing Arts Center at Loyola Academy this Sunday night for a fun unique, family-friendly Halloween concert!

The Northshore Concert Band, a 100-member Chicago-area symphonic band known for its musical excellence and commitment to music education, kicks off its 68th season in spectacular and spooky form with a special evening concert "Treats & Tricks". This unique way to experience Halloween is sure to be a special and spooky event filled with fun musical treats and possibly some tricks!

Highlights include Johann Sebastian Bach’s ominous Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, a chilling piece of music that many consider the unofficial anthem of Halloween. Appearing in many scary films over the years, Toccata and Fugue in D Minor set a spine-chilling scene during the opening credits of the 1931 horror classic Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. It also memorably opened the 1940 classic movie Fantasia.

Also included are mysterious works from the cinema including Music for a Darkened Theater — a medley of tunes by Danny Elfman including music from Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas and Beetlejuice, and Howl’s Moving Castle — a spellbinding suite from Joe Hisaishi’s score for Miyazaki’s anime film of the same title, that captures the fantasy and wonder of the setting as experienced through a child’s eyes.

Advance tickets are available online through Eventbrite. Day-of tickets will be available one hour before the performance at the venue box office. All tickets are general admission.

Ticket prices are Adult: $25, Seniors (65+): $20, Students & Children: $10.
