Gunfire On Emerson; Arrests For Home Burglary, Battery: Blotter

Evanston Police Department incident and arrest reports from June 20 - June 26.

EVANSTON, IL — The following information comes from the Evanston Police Department as a record of those arrested by police and incidents reported to police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges, which represent merely accusations by the state, are often dropped or reduced. All persons named are innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

INCIDENTS

CAR BURGLARY
Someone stole a purse containing a wallet from inside a parked car with an open window around 3 p.m. on June 19 in the 1600 block of Monroe Street.

GARAGE BURGLARY
Someone stole a green Fuji bicycle from inside a residential garage in the 2500 block of Harrison Street between 5 p.m. on June 20 and 4:22 p.m. on June 21.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone broke the window to a single-family home in the 1100 block of Sherman Avenue around 11:25 p.m. on June 22.

HOME BURGLARY
Someone broke into a single-family home in the 2400 block of Bradley Place around 4:40 p.m. on June 22 by forcing open the door.

THEFT OF CAR PARTS
Someone stole parts from a Honda parked in the road in the 1900 block of Colfax Street between noon on June 21 and 8:30 a.m. on June 22.

RETAIL THEFT
Someone stole vitamins and other merchandise from a supermarket in the 2700 block of Green Bay Road between 4 and 4:13 p.m. on June 23.

BURGLARY
Someone cut a padlock in an apartment's storage area between 6 p.m. on June 22 and 2:30 p.m. on June 24 in the 2700 block of Hampton Parkway and stole power tools and other items.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone broke windows of an apartment building around 4:50 a.m. on June 23 in the 1700 block of Dodge Avenue.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
Someone displayed a weapon around 7:30 p.m. on June 22 in the 400 block of Ridge Avenue.

HOME BURGLARY
Someone broke into an apartment in the 400 block of Callan Avenue between 7 and 11 p.m. on June 22 and stole several computers and jewelry. It appeared the door had been pried open.

CAR BURGLARY
Someone stole cash and other items from a car parked in a driveway in the 100 block of Custer Avenue between 4:30 p.m. on June 22 and 9 a.m. on June 23.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
Someone shot at another person in the street around 6:53 p.m. on June 23 near the intersection of Dewey Avenue and Emerson Street.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone damaged a window to an apartment building around 9:20 p.m. on June 24 in the 700 block of Brummel Street by shooting a BB gun.

CAR BURGLARY
Someone stole a GPS unit and cash from a Subaru parked in the street near the intersection of Keeney Street and Judson Avenue between 4 p.m. on June 24 and 8:45 a.m. on June 25.

THEFT
Someone stole a purse from a room at a hotel in the 1500 block of Sherman Avenue between 8 p.m. and midnight on June 25.

BURGLARY
Someone broke a window to a convenience store in the 1600 block of Emerson Street and stole tobacco products around 1:45 a.m. on June 26.

GARAGE BURGLARY
Someone stole a white Trek bicycle between 1 p.m. on June 23 and 6 p.m. on June 25 from inside a garage with an unlocked door in the 1100 block of Harvard Terrace.

HOME BURGLARY
Someone pried open the front door of an apartment in the 200 block of Ridge Avenue and stole computer and video game equipment between 9 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. on June 26.

RETAIL THEFT
Someone stole Tylenol from a pharmacy in the 100 block of Ashbury Avenue around 5:45 p.m. on June 26.


ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Gelisa D. Bailey, 27, of the 600 block of Hull Terrace in Evanston, and Timothy W. Day, 31, of the 5000 block of North Kenmore Avenue in Chicago, were both arrested shortly after 10 p.m. on June 20 at Bailey's residence and charged with domestic battery.

Nicolas D. Nelson, 21, of the 2000 block of Maple Avenue in Evanston, was arrested at 12:51 p.m. on June 21 at the Evanston Police Department and charged with battery.

Dennis O. Wallace, 20, of the 100 block of Elmwood Avenue in Evanston was arrested at his home shortly before 5 p.m. on June 21 and charged with domestic battery.

Glenford S. Morales, 42, of the 1800 block of Lyons Street in Evanston, was arrested at 9:26 a.m. on June 23 at his home and charged with domestic battery.

Steve T. Rubel, 52, of the 131 block of Clyde Avenue in Evanston, was arrested at 5:50 a.m. on June 22 and charged with criminal cannabis possession.

Kevin G. Stewart, 58, of the 4600 block of North Clifton Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 11:13 a.m. on June 23 in the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue and charged with trespassing.

Guadalupe M. Cardenas, 33, of the 3700 block of North Sawyer Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 4:07 p.m. on June 24 in the 500 block of Custer Avenue and charged with trespassing.

Russel W. Lane, 54, of the 1300 block of Hinman Avenue in Evanston, was arrested at 6:24 a.m. on June 25 at the Evanston Police Department and charged with battery.

Enrique Mora Morales, 21, of the 1100 block of Dewey Avenue in Evanston, was arrested at 7:30 p.m. on June 25 near the intersection of Main Street and Brown Avenue and charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver after he was pulled over with a gun in his waistband, a marijuana cigar, and no valid license or plates. Welborne Powell, 36, of the 600 block of North Monticello Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 3:13 a.m. at 3:13 a.m. on June 26 at a donut shop in the 8800 block of Gross Point Road and was charged with residential burglary.
