Harley Barke Brings Dogs and Their People Together at Harley Clarke Mansion

Pups and People Find Their Zen at Dog Meditation and Social

EVANSTON, Ill. – A surprisingly mellow pack of about 30 pups and their people gathered on the East Lawn of the historic Harley Clarke Mansion Aug. 30 for Harley Barke, a free community event celebrating the tail end of National Dog Month.

Set against Harley Clarke’s lakefront backdrop, the event began with a 20-minute guided meditation led by Sarah Rulseh, of Heaven Meets Earth Yoga Studio, giving dogs and their humans a chance to slow down, relax and spend some quality time together. A social hour followed, with drinks, dog treats and plenty of mingling among two- and four-legged guests.

“We weren’t quite sure what to expect, but the dogs seemed really relaxed, and tails were definitely wagging,” said Scott Henry, Principal and CEO, Celadon Partners.
