Little Beans Cafe to Open in Evanston

Opening is set for February 13 at former Osco site.

Little Beans Cafe will open on Friday, February 13 at the site of the former Osco store at 430 Asbury Avenue, Evanston Ninth Ward Alderman Coleen Burrus informed residents Saturday in an email update.

The concept of Little Beans Cafe, owned by a sister-brother dup of Shannon Valko and Rob Spengler and already with a location in Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood, is to “operate a family cafe and play space for children where parents can enjoy coffee or a snack while their children play,” Burrus wrote.

While the play is not supervised, parents and caregivers remain on site.
