Man Shot In Neck Wednesday Night in Evanston

A passenger in a gold vehicle shot the 32-year-old victim twice after asking for his name.

Police are investigating a late Wednesday night incident in which an Evanston man was shot in the neck after being asked for his name by the suspect.

The 32-year-old victim was sitting in his parked vehicle in the 1800 block of Leland around 11:20 p.m. when a gold vehicle pulled up next to him. A passenger in the gold vehicle, described as a black man with braided hair, asked the victim his name and then fired two gunshots at him before the vehicle fled westbound on Emerson Street.

A passenger in the victim’s vehicle drove him to Evanston Hospital, where he is being treated for the wound that is considered non life-threatening.
