Map: Evanston Shots Fired Reports For 2017

See where each of this year's 104 shots fired calls in Evanston was reported.

EVANSTON, IL — Cops got more than 100 calls of shots fired in Evanston so far this year, according to police data. The data, which includes shots fired reports received through Dec. 6, was released to Patch following an open records request. We've created a map to show the time and location of each report.

While reports of gunfire were spread around much of the city, the map shows a few locations where clusters of calls have been received during the year, including the area north of Dodge and Emerson and the area north of Howard Street west of the Red Line.

The month with the most shots fired calls was June, followed by January with 12. October and July had 11 calls each, according to the data.
