Meghan Markle Set For On-Screen Marriage Before Royal Wedding
Prior to marrying Prince Harry, the Northwestern-trained actor will be wed on TV in the season finale of the show "Suits."

EVANSTON, IL — The USA cable series "Suits" will stage a sort of dress rehearsal for this spring's royal wedding, as the show's creator has written an on-screen wedding between Meghan Markle's character and her longtime love interest portrayed by Patrick Adams, according to the Associated Press. Both actors will leave the show following the seventh season finale, which airs April 25.
Markle, a 2003 Northwestern graduate with a double major in theater and international relations, will marry British Prince Harry of Wales on May 19 at Windsor Castle.
"Suits" creator and show runner Aaron Korsh said it was a happy coincidence the characters don't have to break up, as both actors were leaving the show at the same time.

He told the AP he had enough warning of the royal engagement to work it into the show's plotline, but he would never have expected to lose an actor through monarchical matrimony.
"When you start a show, they definitely don’t tell you to anticipate that one of your actors is going to marry a prince. That’s just not in the handbook,” he said. "But a lot of time, these things kind of force you to open up the box and get creative and invite new characters into your world and explore them."

Katerine Heigl will join the show in its eighth season and Dule Hill will become a series regular. Plus, there's a planned "Suits" spin-off in the works that will star Gina Torres, AP reported.
