Northwestern Medicine Employee Charged With Sexual Assault
Prosecutors say the meeting began mutual and friendly until he sat on the victim's bed and refused to leave before sexually assaulting her.

EVANSTON, IL — A Northwestern Medicine employee is facing sexual assault charges after allegedly meeting a woman on the Northwestern Campus, according to reports. Prosecutors say Emmanuel Boadu, 26, of the 5900 block of North Kenmore Avenue, had met the victim in her campus apartment late Friday night or early Saturday morning.
The victim told Boadu before he arrived that it would be a "friendly encounter" and that he shouldn't expect to stay the night, the Tribune reported prosecutors as saying.
Boadu, a native of Ghana and a biochemistry student at the University of Illinois Chicago, showed up with two bottles of wine before he and the victim went to a common area of the building, prosecutors say. He then complained about being tired.

The victim led Boadu back to her room so he could collect his personal items he had left in there, prosecutors say. That's when he refused to leave and sat on her bed.
The young woman began recording audio on her iPad without Boadu's knowledge, the Tribune reported.

Around 1 a.m. Saturday, Boadu eventually got the victim on her bed, where he kissed and touched her despite her repeatedly telling him to stop, prosecutors say. They accuse him of forcing his hand down her pants, forcing her hand down his pants and attempting to remove her pants.
The victim struggled Boadu finally stopped, according to the Tribune. The victim left and got help from campus police.
Boadu was working for Northwestern Medicine as a sterile processing technician, responsible for ensuring the sterile packaging and storage of medical equipment.
Boadu has since been put on administrative leave from his job at Northwestern, the Tribune reports. He's scheduled for court on Tuesday in Skokie and is being held on $100,000 bond and is not allowed any contact with the victim.
