Westminster Place eyes 'several $100M' renovation (evanstonnow.com) — Westminster Place, the Evanston senior living campus between Grant Street and Golf Road, is planning a multi-phase modernization that could total several hundred million dollars and start construction in 2030. Presbyterian Living will hold community meetings through 2027 and is actively seeking input from Evanston residents, neighbors, and staff on building replacements, green space, and updated healthcare facilities.
   

2. Evanston may seek new police outpost on Howard (evanstonnow.com) — Evanston officials are exploring a new police outpost on Howard Street, with a $100,000 placeholder in the 2027 capital plan and potential TIF funding. Eighth Ward Ald. Matt Rodgers says the site would support EPD, CARE, and possibly Chicago and CTA police, as the city weighs storefront options near the Howard L station after earlier locations proved unworkable.
   

3. Final celebration held for Hispanic Heritage Month (evanstonroundtable.com) — Evanston residents just wrapped up a lively, city-sponsored Hispanic Heritage Month finale at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, complete with traditional dances, live music and shared meals. Local groups like Evanston Latinos and Coalition Latina Evanston highlighted cultural pride while strengthening neighborhood connections, giving families, students and longtime residents a chance to celebrate together close to home.
   

4. Evanston Apartment Tower Sold, Rebranded as Eva Under New Ownership (patch.com) — A major downtown Evanston apartment tower at 1500 Sherman Ave. has been sold and rebranded as "Eva," with Chicago-based Draper and Kramer taking over ownership and management. The 268-unit building, formerly Albion Evanston, targets renters connected to Northwestern and commuters, emphasizing its walkable access to transit, the lakefront, and local shops and restaurants.
   

5. Wildkits golfers win state championship (evanstonroundtable.com) — Evanston Township High School's Wildkits golf team has brought home a state championship after two straight years as runner-up, winning by 10 strokes in Bloomington. The record-setting performance in the Class 3A finals also capped longtime coach Jed Curtis's career, as he retires from coaching after two decades leading ETHS golfers.
