1. Suspect In Violent Robbery At Evanston Spa Arrested (patch.com) — Evanston readers are learning more about a violent July robbery at Relax Spa on Howard Street, where suspects allegedly stole cash, a phone and credit cards after attacking an employee. Police say a 25-year-old Chicago man has now been arrested and charged with multiple felonies, while detectives continue investigating and are asking the public for additional tips.
   

2. Council OKs Green Bay youth sports complex (evanstonnow.com) — Evanston's City Council has approved the Ishbia Family Foundation's youth sports complex at 2722 Green Bay Road, clearing the way for construction to start later this year. Neighbors on Prairie Avenue raised concerns about alley traffic and lighting, but most alders backed zoning allowances, including extra building height, aiming to open the facility by next fall's indoor season.
   

3. Alma Advisory Group kicks off District 65 superintendent search (evanstonroundtable.com) — Evanston/Skokie District 65 has officially launched its search for a new superintendent, hiring Alma Advisory Group, which previously helped ETHS find its current leader. Alma's CEO outlined a fast-moving timeline with public input sessions in late October, stakeholder focus groups, and finalist interviews by winter as the board seeks a financially savvy, student-focused "generational" leader.
   

4. ETHS board approves $118.5M budget and Honeywell solar deal (evanstonroundtable.com) — Evanston Township High School's board has approved a balanced $118.5 million budget for 2026-27, keeping spending almost flat while grappling with rising benefit and insurance costs. The board also greenlit a Honeywell solar and energy-efficiency project expected to cut ETHS electricity use nearly in half and save more than $350,000 a year, potentially easing long-term operating pressures on local taxpayers.
   

5. Reports: Albion to sell for $126M (evanstonnow.com) — A major Evanston apartment tower, The Albion at 1500 Sherman Ave., is reportedly under contract to sell for $126 million, one of the largest suburban Chicago residential deals. If finalized, it would be Evanston's biggest sale since the record-setting E2 apartments deal in 2025, signaling continued investor interest in the city's rental market.
