Where: ’s Nichols Concert Hall at 1490 Chicago Avenue in Evanston
What: A community-wide celebration featuring music and dance performances that celebrates diversity, unity, leadership, and service.

Northwestern University’s Keynote Speaker Dr. Benjamin Carson, Sr.

When: Monday, Jan. 16, at noon
Where: Pick Staiger Concert Hall, 50 Arts Circle
What: "Featured speaker Dr. Carson is a full professor of neurosurgery, oncology, plastic surgery and pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where he has directed pediatric neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center for over a quarter of a century," according to the City of Evanston website. 

Candlelight Vigil featuring Tim King at Alice Millar Chapel

When: Monday, Jan. 16, 7 p.m.
Where: Alice Millar Chapel, 1870 Sheridan Rd.
What: Candelight vigil including musical performances from NU a cappella student groups. Keynote address will be given by Tim King, founder, President and CEO of Urban Prep Academies. Event sponsored by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and NU MLK Planning Committee.
